In partnership with the Alouette Correctional Centre for Women, Maple Ridge, BC, the Blanket Project has enabled female offenders to reach out to the women in Kigeme, Rwanda. Each year the female inmates of ACCW crochet over 100 blankets for the Healthy Mums Project which are then delivered to Rwanda by the visiting teams from Vancouver.

This episode of CBC’s Living Out Loud presents a radio documentary on Embrace Rwanda’s Blanket Project created by Judy McFarlane, Team Member. Find out about the positive impact on the lives of women in BC and Rwanda and the deep connections developed through the simple act of making, giving and receiving a blanket.
