Due to Covid restrictions we have been unable to hold any fundraising events for some time now. But the time has come to venture outside and get together with our valued supporters.

Please see the invitation below where we are hoping to raise funds for a PIG CENTRE to be built in Rwanda. This is on the heels of the successful CHICKEN CENTRE that we have already in place that provides chickens for the families in our Healthy Mums Program and is also a source of income in Rwanda to cover some of our implementation costs. The planned PIG CENTRE will do the same and help us move closer to having the Healthy Mums Program fully sustainable in Rwanda.

At this moment, our friends in Rwanda are experiencing hardships we cannot imagine. Here in Canada hope rises as we see our way through the pandemic, in Rwanda the outlook is bleak. Only 2.6% of Rwandans have been vaccinated. There is no social safety net. Access to health care is extremely limited. Loss of income can mean no food. Our team has suffered loss; the families we support are at risk and isolated. With COVID raging, lives hang in the balance.

The shortfall in our Chicken Centre revenues due to border closures in Uganda and Congo, combined with a decrease in donations has meant that we have had difficulty in fulfilling our commitments.

For many years we have shared with you the remarkable accomplishments made by our Embrace Rwanda staff team and the resilient families they serve. You have celebrated with us - hard work, flourishing, growing, thriving!” Today we share a different story and we ask you to open your hearts for an urgent need.

In the light of this, our staff team has made an enormous personal sacrifice. After prayer and fasting they decided that they would forgo their income for the next quarter to ensure that the funds we are able to send them would go towards the resources needed to run the Healthy Mums Program at the grass roots level.

In Rwanda today there is a mother who cannot sell her vegetables to the Refugee Camp or the village nearby because of COVID, so she cannot buy food, clothes or school supplies for her family. But if she is one of the more than 3,000 mothers and their families supported by Embrace Rwanda, there is hope.
